Prescription Policy of David A. Herz, M.D.

Any and all appropriate medication is ordered with your
best medical management in mind.

Medication is not ordered for patients who come to the office for second surgical opinions.

Medication is not ordered for patients with normal neurological evaluations.

Medications will be ordered for post-op patients and the dosage will be tapered
over a three-month period (maximum).

If a patient is still experiencing pain after a three-month period, the patient will be
referred to a "pain-management program."

Dr. Herz will not order prescription medications in dosages which exceed the recommended levels as listed in the Physician's Desk Reference.

Prescriptions will only be renewed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. No prescriptions are issued for non-hospitalized patients during evenings, weekends or holidays.
